Afghanistan reels after killing of police chief

Parliamentary elections in the southern Afghan province of Kandahar, due to be held on Saturday, will be delayed by one week following the assassination of the powerful provincial police commander, with U.S. Defense Secretary Jim Mattis saying it was too early to tell if the commander's death would scare voters elsewhere.
